Amritsar, 19 May 2025 : As per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the information received from Punjab State Legal Services Authority, S.A.S. Nagar, Shri Amarinder Singh Grewal, District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar informed that the National Lok Adalat was to be held in the district on 10.05.2025 but as per the instructions of NALSA, due to recent escalation of tension on the Indo-Pak border, the National Lok Adalat was postponed on 10.05.2025. Shri Amarinder Singh Grewal, District and Sessions Judge, informed that now as per the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar, National Lok Adalat will be held in the district on 24.05.2025 to settle the cases that are liable to be disposed of at the litigative and pre-litigative stage by mutual consent. He said that in this National Lok Adalat, pension related cases including service cases, land acquisition cases, revenue cases, BSNL cases, insurance company cases, financial institution related cases, bank loan related cases, water bills, criminal compoundable cases, cheque bounce related cases, motor accident claim cases related to tribunal, marital disputes, traffic challans, labour dispute cases, electricity cases and other ci vil declaratory cases will be heard. Apart from this, he said that if there is any difficulty in filing a case in the National Lok Adalat, then the office of District Legal Services Authority, Amritsar and the office number 0183-2220205 can also be contacted.
