Narnaud, May 11- The last rites of brave Indian Air Force soldier Kamal Kamboj, a resident of Lohari Ragho village in Narnaud sub-division of Hisar, were performed on Thursday with full Air Force military and police honours. A large number of local residents and administrative officials gave him a tearful farewell. He was working in the Indian Air Force under the Agniveer scheme. Brave soldier Kamal Kamboj was posted in Ladakh Army soldier Kamal Kamboj, a resident of Lohari Ragho village, was last posted in Ladakh, from where he had come home on leave. He was recently posted in Gujarat. He tragically died in a road accident between Moth and Lohari Ragho villages in Narnaud area on Wednesday. His postmortem was conducted at Hansi General Hospital on Wednesday. On Thursday morning, his body was brought to his native village Lohari Ragho with full respect. The bodies were cremated with state honours. On this occasion, Deputy Tehsildar Omvir Singh, Narnaund Police Station In-charge Balwan Singh and army personnel paid tribute by offering flowers. On behalf of the government, MLA Vinod Bhayana, Naib Tehsildar Omvir, Chairman Shamsher Kukkan, BJP leader Ajay Sindhu paid tribute. The body of Indian Air Force soldier Kamal was brought in an air force vehicle where after reaching home, villagers from nearby areas paid tribute to him and then joined the martyred soldier’s last journey with a huge convoy chanting slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai and the youth holding the tricolour in their hands. Before the last rites, the air force personnel saluted him and after this, the air force personnel saluted him by firing a gun. Naib Tehsildar Omvir said that we have paid tribute to the army soldier Kamal. Balwan Singh, in-charge of Narnaud Police Station, said that we have reached here and paid tribute to the police administration to the soldier Kamal. He said that this is a time of sorrow and we are with the family in this hour of sorrow. Brave soldier Kamal Kamboj was recruited two years ago. The family members of soldier Kamal, Ashok Kumar, Pankaj, Rajkumar said that Kamal was a very talented young man. I had joined the Air Force only two years ago. Whenever I came to the village on leave, I used to take the blessings of all the elders. He lived with the children. He said that he was the only son of the family and his father has also passed away. Therefore, there is no earning member in the family. His mother is the only one left in the family. The soldier’s aunt Asha Rani, aunt Vimala Devi and Parameshwari told that when Kamal was one month old, his father died. After this, his mother brought him to his maternal home in Lohari Ragho and raised him here. 24-year-old Kamal Kamboj, a resident of Lohari Ragho village, was posted as a constable in the Indian Air Force since 2023. Kamal’s first posting was in Ladakh. He came to his village on April 28 after taking leave. He was returning to duty after receiving a message on Wednesday that the leaves of the army personnel were cancelled in view of Operation Sindoor launched by the Indian Army against Pakistan. Then the accident happened. Local residents and administrative officials consoled his mother Sheela Devi. His father, late Kashmiri Lal, had passed away many years ago.
