Ferozepur : 20 Jul 2025 : In the heart of Punjab, where bravery flows in every vein and sacrifice is a legacy, a young boy named Shvan Singh has become a symbol of quiet resilience and unwavering spirit. Today, that spirit found a powerful ally. In a gesture as profound as it is heartwarming, the Indian Army’s Golden Arrow Division has adopted and committed to fully sponsor education of this “Young Warrior” – a boy who won not just admiration, but respect, through his exceptional courage during Operation SINDOOR. Shvan’s educational sponsorship will cover every aspect of his schooling, from admission to academic needs – ensuring that financial constraints never stand in the way of his dreams. It is an investment in character, in grit and in the spirit of India itself. During a special ceremony at Ferozepur Cantonment, Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, AVSM, GOC-in-C Western Command, personally felicitated Master Shvan. More than medals or speeches, it was a moment that celebrated a unique bond the Indian Army’s enduring relationship with the people of Punjab and a deep sense of responsibility towards the next generation. Lt Gen Katiyar called the initiative a living testimony of the Army’s promise to not only guard the nation’s borders but also nurture its future. ‘In Shvan, he said, we see not just courage, but potential and the Army stands beside him, in every step of the way. For the officers and men of the Golden Arrow Division, this is more than an act of support – it’s a story of shared pride. For Shvan, it’s the beginning of a journey where his bravery is matched by opportunity. And for the rest of us, it’s a reminder that in every corner of this land, there are quiet heroes waiting to be seen, heard and uplifted. The Indian Army just made sure one of them has the wind beneath his wings.
