FLOOD SITUATION IN BORDER AREAS OF FEROZEPUR: BSF EXTENDS SUPPORT TO VILLAGERS AMID RISING WATER LEVELS

Ferozepur, 28 Augsat :  Due to the continuous rise in the water level of the River Sutlej, several border villages in the Ferozepur area have been affected by flooding. As a result, villagers have been shifted to safer locations with the active assistance of the Border Security Force (BSF). BSF troops are extending full support to the civil population by deploying boats to safely evacuate men, women, children and essential material from flood-affected villages. At Village Kaluwala, BSF personnel provided crucial community assistance during the high water flow. Using BSF boats, villagers were ferried across the River Sutlej from Village Kaluwala to Village Nihalewala. A total of 14 villagers (02 males, 10 females, and 02 children) were safely rescued and relocated. To deal with the situation effectively, 04 BSF rescue teams have been deployed in different flood-affected areas: * 02 teams with speed boats are rescuing villagers of Kaluwala, Tindiwala and Gatti Rajjoke..

•01 team has been positioned near Nihala Lavera, Dhira Gara and Sultanwala under PS Arif Ke.

•Another team is conducting evacuation operations in villages located 3-4 km inside from the border, where floodwater has entered civilian habitations. In addition to rescue operations, BSF troops are assisting villagers in shifting household items, livestock and essential materials from inundated homes. The BSF remains fully committed to safeguarding lives and extending all possible assistance to the civil population during this ongoing flood situation. In addition, BSF troops carried out relief work along the riverbanks, assisting local residents in evacuating household items and essential belongings from inundated houses.
