
SAS Nagar, March 22: The flash piece recovered from the kitchen of a momos manufacturing workshop situated at Mataur of Mohali, has been analysed as a body part of a Goat by the Animal Husbandry Experts, said the Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal here on Saturday. Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that during the inspection of the momos workshop after getting an intimation, it was found that there was a grave violation of hygiene and proper sanitation. Besides taking the samples of food items and ingredients, a piece of flash was also recovered and handed over to the Senior Veterinary Officer by the Food Safety and Municipal Corporation teams for ascertaining its origin. She said that as per the analysing report of the Animal Husbandry Experts, the flash (meat) piece in question was about half a Kg in weight with dimensions of 10 inches and 6 inches. The minute examination of this flash piece has shown that the meat piece recovered is of a Goat.The Deputy Commissioner said that District Administration is very much clear in its ongoing action against the vendors preparing/cooking human consumption materials at unhygienic and filthy environment, through Food Safety and Municipal Corporation teams. She said that the inspections will remain continue to safeguard the interests of general public in the district by food safety teams.
