27 NDPS Cases Registered in Six Days: IG Baljot Singh Rathore

Fazilka, March 7: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government continues its aggressive campaign against drugs. As part of this initiative, the district police conducted a special search operation along the inter-state border today. During his visit to the district, IG Baljot Singh Rathore stated that Fazilka police are working with full dedication to eradicate drug menace as per government directives. Since the launch of this campaign on March 1, 27 cases under the NDPS Act have been registered in just six days. He emphasized that all police stations in the district are maintaining strict vigilance. Providing further details, SSP Varinder Singh Brar stated that 31 accused have been arrested under the NDPS Act as part of the anti-drug drive. Various drugs and drug money have been recovered from them, and legal action is being taken accordingly. As part of “Operation Seal,” a special search operation was carried out at Gumjal and Rajpura checkpoints along the Rajasthan border, where police teams rigorously inspected vehicles entering Punjab. Additionally, police have set up checkpoints at multiple locations to ensure continuous monitoring.
