Kudrat Welfare Trust Successfully Concludes Blood Donation Camp at Panjab University, Chandigarh

Chandigarh, 20th February 2025: Kudrat Welfare Trust, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting social causes, in association with Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh, and the administration of Panjab University, successfully organized a Blood Donation Camp at the Student Centre, Panjab University, Chandigarh. The camp, held on 20th February 2025, to commemorate the 19th birth anniversary of Late Kudrat Kaur, who lost her life at the age of 13 years, in a road accident on Airport Road, Mohali, witnessed an overwhelming response from handsome number of students, faculty members, and staff of Panjab University, as well as volunteers from various walks of life. A total of 61 units of blood were collected during the camp, which will be utilized to save precious lives. The Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Professor Amit Chauhan, Dean of the Student Welfare Department, Panjab University, Chandigarh in the presence of Mr. Bhupinder Singh, PA to DSW, Dr. Vineeta, Sr. Resident Doctor, PGI, Chandigarh, and Shri G S Ahluwalia, Chairperson, Kudrat Welfare Trust.Speaking on the occasion, Mr. G S Ahluwalia, Chairperson, Kudrat Welfare Trust, said, “We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm and generosity of the donors. This camp is a testament to the collective efforts of our partners and volunteers, who have worked tirelessly to make this event a success. We are grateful to Panjab University and PGI, Chandigarh, for their support and collaboration.” Dr. Sangeeta Kumari, In-charge, Blood Bank, PGI, Chandigarh, appreciated the initiative taken by Kudrat Welfare Trust and Panjab University. On the occasion Dr. Vineeta said, “Blood donation is a noble cause, and we are happy to be a part of this effort. We urge more people to come forward and donate blood to save lives. This camp is a significant step towards promoting voluntary blood donation and creating awareness about the importance of blood donation.” The camp was organized with the aim of promoting voluntary blood donation and creating awareness about the importance of blood donation. Kudrat Welfare Trust has been actively engaged in organizing blood donation camps and promoting social causes in the region. The event was well-organized, with a team of medical professionals and volunteers from the University, and from trust ensuring a smooth and safe donation process. The donors were provided with refreshments and certificates of appreciation by Kudrat Welfare Trust and by PGI Blood Bank as well.  Kudrat Welfare Trust expresses its gratitude to Panjab University, PGI, Chandigarh, and all the donors, volunteers, and partners who made this event a success.
