FEROZEPUR, (PUNJAB) 28 Augsat : In response to rising floodwaters caused by incessant rainfall, the Indian Army’s Golden Arrow Division has been at the forefront of ongoing rescue and relief efforts in the Firozpur area, saving lives and providing critical aid to affected citizens. Demonstrating the Indian Army’s “Service Before Self” ethos, soldiers have been working tirelessly to rescue stranded individuals, including children, the elderly, and women. They have waded through strong currents and mobilized boats, life-saving equipment, and medical assistance on short notice to reach distressed communities.The troops’ efforts have extended beyond rescue, providing immediate humanitarian assistance that includes safe evacuation, first aid, food, and temporary shelter. This swift and determined action has been widely praised by the people of Firozpur, reinforcing the deep-seated trust and bond between the Indian Army and the nation’s citizens. The Villages of Rukhnewala, Nihala Lavera Ghat, Dhulchike, Kaluwala, and Dheragarh are among the worst affected and are being given nonstop assistance.In a coordinated effort with the Civil Administration and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), the Golden Arrow Division is ensuring a seamless and effective response. This support and coordination have been crucial in streamlining rescue operations and maximizing the reach of relief efforts.
