Addressing the disruptions caused by highway closures,\u00a0<span class=\"scayt-misspell-word\" data-scayt-word=\"Cheema\" data-wsc-lang=\"en_US\" data-wsc-id=\"m8h2congq3kajfjfd\">Cheema<\/span>\u00a0emphasized that the ongoing struggle against the central government\u2019s policies must not come at the cost of Punjab\u2019s economic lifelines.\u00a0\u201cDuring the protest against the three black farm laws imposed by the\u00a0<span class=\"scayt-misspell-word\" data-scayt-word=\"BJP-led\" data-wsc-lang=\"en_US\" data-wsc-id=\"m8h2cotjtkr1gpw3j\">BJP-led<\/span>\u00a0central government, AAP stood firmly with the farmers. Punjab&#8217;s people and our government supported the farmers wholeheartedly during that time. Today, the farmers\u2019 demands are still directed at the central government, and their fight must continue at that level. Blocking Punjab&#8217;s borders like\u00a0<span class=\"scayt-misspell-word\" data-scayt-word=\"Shambhu\" data-wsc-lang=\"en_US\" data-wsc-id=\"m8h2coqdg1nsx1rr2\">Shambhu<\/span>\u00a0and Khanauri is causing severe damage to the state\u2019s economy and trade,\u201d said Cheema.\u00a0He stressed that Punjab is currently waging a critical battle against drugs, and providing employment opportunities to the youth is essential for winning this fight. \u201cIf industries are stalled and trade is disrupted, how will we create jobs for our youth? Without employment, we cannot pull them out of the clutches of drugs. Trade and industries are the backbone of Punjab, and the ongoing highway closures are severely impacting both,\u201d Cheema added.\u00a0Cheema assured that the Punjab government remains committed to supporting farmers in their legitimate demands and emphasized that AAP ministers are actively working to present farmers&#8217; concerns before the central government. \u201cWe urge farmer leaders to focus their struggle against the central government while allowing Punjab to progress.
