Addressing the media in Ludhiana today, AAP Punjab President Aman Arora announced that the Punjab government will soon acquire state-of-the-art anti-drone technology, making Punjab the first state in the country to adopt this advanced measure against cross-border smuggling of drugs and weapons.\u00a0“Despite relentless efforts over the past three years, over 90% of drugs entering Punjab still originate from Pakistan through drones. While securing the international border is the responsibility of the BSF and the central government, their failure has necessitated this critical step by Punjab. The new technology will identify, track, and neutralize drones within a range of 10 kilometers, ensuring that such activities are effectively curbed,” said Aman Arora. Some Trials for the anti-drone system have already been conducted and one will be conducted at the Tarn Taran border, with key state officials, including Cabinet Ministers Harpal Singh Cheema and Aman Arora actively participating in the evaluation process.\u00a0Arora said that the adoption of this cutting-edge technology underscores the Punjab government’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug trafficking. “This initiative will strengthen our ongoing fight and make Punjab a role model for the country,” he said, adding that the government would spare no effort until drug peddling in the state is completely eliminated.\u00a0In response to media queries, Aman Arora criticized the central government for failing to secure Punjab’s international borders. He stated, “It is the central government’s responsibility to prevent smuggling of drugs and weapons from across the border. Their failure has pushed us to take this on ourselves. Punjab will not let its youth fall prey to this menace any longer.”\u00a0Arora also highlighted the success of Punjab Police\u2019s enforcement efforts, which have led to numerous arrests, the dismantling of drug networks, and the confiscation of large quantities of narcotics. \u201cMany drug peddlers have fled the state, homes of offenders stand locked,” he noted.\u00a0Sending a strong warning to those involved in the drug trade, Aman Arora reiterated AAP\u2019s zero-tolerance policy. \u201cWhether they are politicians, police officers, or smugglers, no one, who has harmed Punjab\u2019s youth by profiting from drugs, will be spared.
